Data Deletion

Overview

Nearby Bikes respects your privacy. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains what is removed, how to request deletion, and what happens after you delete your account.

What data we store

When you use Nearby Bikes, we may store:

• Name, email address, and phone number

• Profile photo and profile details

• Location data used to show nearby listings

• Listings you create, including photos and descriptions

• Chat messages with other users

• Favourites, follows, reviews, and notifications

• Account login information (email/password or Google Sign-In)

Delete your account in the app

1. Open the Nearby Bikes app and sign in
2. Go to Profile → Settings
3. Tap Delete Account
4. Confirm the deletion
5. Enter your password if you signed up with email (leave blank if you use Google Sign-In only)

Your account and related data will be permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.

Delete your account on the website

1. Sign in at nearbybike.com
2. Go to your Profile → Settings
3. Open the Delete Account section
4. Type DELETE in the confirmation box
5. Enter your current password if you use email sign-in
6. Submit the form

You will be signed out immediately and your account will be permanently deleted.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we remove:

• Your profile and account details

• All your listings and listing photos

• Your profile photo

• Your chat messages and related images

• Saved favourites and follow connections

• Notifications linked to your account

• Active login sessions and API tokens

Data we may retain

We may keep limited information only where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as:

• Records needed for fraud prevention, security, or legal compliance

• Support tickets you submitted before deletion (until resolved)

• Anonymous or aggregated data that cannot identify you

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access your account, email us at info@nearbybike.com with:

• Subject: Account & Data Deletion Request

• Your registered email address

• Your full name (as shown on your profile)

• A short note that you want your account and data deleted

We may ask you to verify ownership before processing the request.

Processing time

• In-app and website deletion: processed immediately

• Email requests: usually within 7–14 business days after verification

After deletion

• You will be signed out from all devices

• Your listings will no longer appear on Nearby Bikes

• You can create a new account later, but previous data cannot be restored
