Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Nearby Bikes on the website (nearbybike.com) or mobile app, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

About Nearby Bikes

Nearby Bikes is a local marketplace that helps people buy, sell, donate, and discover bikes and related listings near them. We connect buyers and sellers but are not a party to any transaction between users.

Account registration

• You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account

• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure

• You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to use the service

• One person should not create multiple accounts to mislead others or bypass restrictions

• You may sign in using supported methods such as email or Google Sign-In

Using the platform

When you use Nearby Bikes, you agree to:

• Provide truthful information in your profile and listings

• List only bikes or items you have the legal right to sell, donate, or advertise

• Communicate respectfully with other users

• Meet locally in safe, public places when buying or selling

• Report suspicious listings, accounts, or behaviour through the app

Listings

• Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of titles, descriptions, photos, prices, and condition of their listings

• Listings may include bikes for sale, donation listings, and business or shop listings where supported

• You must not post duplicate, misleading, or expired listings

• Nearby Bikes may remove, edit, or hide listings that violate these terms or community guidelines

• Marking a listing as sold or pausing it is your responsibility when it is no longer available

Transactions and payments

• Nearby Bikes does not process payments between buyers and sellers

• Price, payment method, delivery or pickup, and item condition are agreed directly between buyer and seller

• Nearby Bikes is not responsible for payment disputes, fraud, non-delivery, or the quality of any item

• Never pay in advance or share sensitive payment details (such as UPI PIN or OTP) with strangers

• Inspect the bike in person before completing a purchase whenever possible

Chat and communication

• In-app chat is provided to help buyers and sellers communicate

• Do not use chat for harassment, spam, threats, or sharing illegal content

• Nearby Bikes may review reported messages and take action where necessary

• Nearby Bikes is not responsible for fraudulent activities between users and acts only as a platform to connect people

Prohibited content and behaviour

You must not post or engage in:

• Stolen, counterfeit, or illegal items

• Misleading photos, prices, or descriptions

• Harassment, hate speech, abuse, or threats

• Spam, scams, or attempts to take transactions off-platform for fraudulent purposes

• Impersonation of another person or business

• Content that infringes someone else’s rights or privacy

Reviews and reports

• Users may leave reviews or report listings and accounts that appear to violate our rules

• Nearby Bikes may investigate reports and remove content or restrict accounts based on valid complaints

• False or malicious reports may result in action against the reporting account

Location services

• Nearby Bikes uses location data to show listings relevant to your area and country

• You agree to provide or allow location access for this purpose

• You can update your location from the website or app where supported

Intellectual property

• Nearby Bikes name, logo, and platform design belong to us or our licensors

• You retain ownership of content you post but grant Nearby Bikes a licence to display it on the platform

• Do not copy, scrape, or misuse platform content without permission

Account suspension and termination

We may, at our discretion:

• Remove or hide listings

• Restrict features such as posting or chat

• Suspend or permanently ban accounts that violate these terms

• Take action based on valid user reports or legal requirements

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deleting your account may permanently remove your listings, messages, and profile data.

Disclaimer

Nearby Bikes is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, that transactions will be successful, or that the service will always be available without interruption.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nearby Bikes and its operators are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from use of the platform or from dealings between users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of Nearby Bikes after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Karnataka, India, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
